October 23rd Baxter Creek Band had the honor of playing the Global Angels charity benefit  at the Junction Night Club in Peterborough with special guests and long time friends EST11/15 opening the show. The staff at the Junction deserve a big shout out for being there and helping out. The girls from Global angels Vickie, Freya, Gail and last but not least Nickie who was the Quarterback on this project.

A special thanks goes out to Mark Holden who engineered the sound for the concert with out him none of this would have been possible.

EST 11/15 opened the show with their brand of rock featuring Vocals from Rick Thomas ,Tony Callahan,Steve McGann, Debbie Statton  Wayne McCutcheon for EST 11/15 and the exquisite vocals of Rhonda Lee Stephenson-Read. If you get the opportunity to see this girl sing do not miss it.

Baxter Creek Band closed the show with some explosive rocking blues and almost had the Junction shaking on it's foundation. A great time was had by all! The Global Angels Charity exceeded what they thought they would bring in from the event.

Last night Baxter Creek band had the extreme honor being the headline group for the Band of Brothers Show ( Tribute to the soldiers who are injured in combat) at a converted barn turned ampi Theater in Norwood Ontario. This show was put on by two amazing individuals Andy Tough www.atoughproductions.com  and his lovely other half Linda Fuller. These people deserve all the thanks we can ever bestow on them. Linda 's son David is stationed in Gage town New Brunswick awaiting deployment to Afghanistan any day now and could not be with the Band of Brothers show last night. The turn out was great Soldiers and Civilians alike both enjoyed  the entertainment from Hal Allison who opened the show with his brand of country music.

Indian River Band
Continued to keep the vibes generating with the many different styles of rock ,blues and country music. 

Blue Mood Band
Opened their show with the great vocals from Wayne (Doc G) Guppy, Tanya Wills Vocals, Dave Coons ( lead Guitar) who just happens to be one the the premier guitar slingers around today electrified the stage. Along with Ron Elke on lead and rhythm.  Dale Price ( Drummer) who himself is a phenomenal drummer kept things in tact along with Britt Johnson (Bass guitar)keeping his groove right on the money.

Closed the show with a two and a half hour non stop set of hard driving rock blues. with Brian Hitchlock( Keyboard and front vocals) Fred Clark (Lead Guitar and vocals) Larry Black (Drums and vocals) Phil Douglas ( Lead Guitar) and Dave Picco ( Bass guitar)

I am led to believe that this Band of Brothers  ( Soldier on Program) is going to receive national exposure across Canada in the near future. March 7th, 2009 - Baxter Creek Band to play the Millbrook Blue Festival

Baxter Creek Band will be one of the bands performing at the Millbrook Blues festival March 7th 2009 along with Blind Dog George, The Damned beavers  and EFT115   @ The King Street Center for the Performing Arts. www.kingstreetcentre.com

Admission is only $5.00 and goes to support the Village of Millbrook Food Share.
Come on out bring your friends and have a great time.  Ask yourself this question where can you go out and for $5.00 bucks have a great blues night with the bands...

January 17th 2009 - Out of the Ashes Benefit Concert

Saturday January 17th, Baxter Creek band had the honour of opening the show at the Rock Haven conference center in Peterborough. Baxter Creek opened with their traditional hard driving blues. It didn’t take long before the floor was filled with party goers dancing up a storm. Larry Black (Drummer) and Fred Clark (Lead Guitar) handled the vocals with backup harmonies from (bassist) David Picco and (lead guitar) Phil Douglas and the sweet Blues harp sounds of Johnny Baker.  

Country Strings a great local country band took the stage and entertained the crowd with some well played and sung classic country.  Two very close friends of Baxter Creek were up on stage with country strings David Coons (Perhaps one of the finest guitar players around today) and Dale (Sticks) Price premier drummer and former drummer for Baxter Creek.

Blue Mood Band
Blue mood continued the show with original and cover blues fronted by Doc G otherwise known as Wayne Guppy to most of his friends. Doc’s deep soulful sound was a pleasure to hear. David Coons played Lead Guitar Ken drums, Ron Rhythm guitar and last but not least Brit on bass.

Johnny and the Moon Dogs
The event co-ordinator Scott Larochelle took center stage with his band the moon dogs and played a variety of classic rock with songs from Tom petty, CCR, and Wall flowers . Excellent  Job Scotty although with all your running around at the event i don’t know where you got the time to get out of your Tux and into your jeans..

Bridget Foley and the Gospel Girls
All I can say is you had to be there!! This was clearly the highlight of the evening for all of us. The vocals Bridget and her girls sang were truly remarkable. If you get the chance to catch her show live, make sure you do. Accompanied by a very tight and well rehearsed three piece band from Peterborough. Their original and cover songs rang out professionally. Don’t miss these guys where ever they play.

General Delivery
Classic and old rock done to perfection these guys are a pleasure to watch and listen to whenever you can catch them.

In closing, all I can say is congratulations to all the musicians who donated and performed at the benefit for the victims of this tragic fire. I am proud to be in the same business as you and especially honoured to call you my friends.

Baxter Creek Band's website go live!!!
Immediate Release: January 17th 2009
Baxtercreekband.com was released today for public viewing prior to the bands first benefit concert in Peterborough. The band has been looking forward to being one of the many bands playing the benefit. The benefit is called "Out of the Ashes" and is dedicated to the victims of the Herbert Street fire that devastating many family's and claimed the life of a three old girl.

This website will be the digital platform that the band will share event information, music, photo's and videos from venues they play at. Currently the Baxter Creek band are working on original music and are expected to produce a CD in the coming months. Currently the Baxter Creek Band have a full line up of terrific cover songs that allow them to play what they love which is Blues and Rock.
